We’ve given you our favourite gluten-free breakfasts in London, our top 5 gluten-free dinners, even our favourite pubs for a gluten-free drink. Well now it’s time for the final course – the best places for a gluten-free dessert! You know the drill by now. We send out our esteemed colleague, Jake, against his will, on a day-long quest across the capital in search of the best of the best. We’re not just looking for great desserts, we’re looking for great gluten-free alternatives to dishes that we’re usually unable to scoff! Let’s get crack-a-lacking…

The Truscott Arms, Maida Vale

We may have mentioned The Truscott in one of our previous lists, and with good reason. Their selection of gluten-free main courses is second-to-none, as is their desserts! Now listen to this for taste bud tickler: Gluten Free Pastry, with roasted peaches, nabbed almonds and a scoop of apple & cinnamon ice cream to top it off. If we’re being completely honest, had we not been required to test out a few more desserts over the course of the day we would’ve ordered two…

The Goring, Belgravia

Pinkies at the ready, it’s time for a spot of afternoon tea and boy have we found the place for it. The Goring provides one of the most quintessentially British afternoon tea experiences going. Their gluten-free scones really are some of the best we’ve ever tasted – none of that dry, crumbly business that we so often settle for! The experience will set you back a few bob, but if you’re looking to treat that special someone then this is the place. Chin chin!

Dishoom, Shoreditch/Kings Cross/Carnaby Street/Covent Garden

Dishoom models itself on the old Irani Cafes of Bombay, and the whole dining experience does feel truly legitimate. Admittedly, this wasn’t the first time we’d been to Dishoom, and it will most certainly not be the last. They’re one of the few restaurants in the capital that truly understand what it means to offer gluten-free alternatives and whist we could rabbit on all day about some of their delectable main courses, we’re here for the desserts. More specifically, the Dishoom Chocolate Pudding. A rich Melt-In-The-Middle pudding served with their fiery Kashmiri chilli ice cream. As they rightly put it on their website…you will not want to share. And we didn’t.

One last thing…
