Ello ello! Now, as part of the Coeliac community we do try to keep up with the up and coming blogs and yours was one that popped up on our Twitter feed recently. How old were you when you were first diagnosed with Coeliac Disease?
Hey! I was diagnosed with coeliac when I was 17.
How have you found things have changed since then?
A lot has changed since I was first diagnosed. There is definitely more awareness of the need for gluten free options in restaurants, cafes etc.
Very true. The awareness of Coeliac Disease has risen dramatically, especially over the past few years. Are there any foods you think are still in need of a good GF alternative?
I really wish croissants and Danishes were gluten free. These are the things I miss the most.
You’re actually the first to say Danishes and we’re in full agreement. We’ll have to have a word with the chef! Now, who do you think has got the whole GF thing bang on? Apart from yours truly obviously…
My favourite restaurant has to be Pizza Express as there are so many gluten free options to enjoy!
Great choice. Worryingly, the staff at our local Pizza Express know the office order by heart! Anyway, before we leave you, are there any last words you’d like to give to our followers?
My final words of wisdom are to realise there is a lot more choice out there than you think. It is a big change of diet but a lot easier going gluten free now than it once was. You’ll also feel a lot better for it!
