A Few Of Our Favourite Places for Your Favourite Delicacies!

As we’re sure you’re all aware, one of the worst things about going gluten-free, whether it be by choice or necessity, is missing out on some of your favourite foods. This is partly down to a lack of availability, but also can be due to the poor quality of these “tasty alternatives”. This is where we come in. We’ve scoured the UK for a five of the best restaurants serving legitimately delicious alternatives!

CHINESE

Now this was an easy choice. Naturally Chinese is a husband and wife run restaurant based in Surbiton, Greater London. Only 11 miles south of Central London and easily accessible from Waterloo Station – this gem is well worth the journey. What’s so great you ask? Well the restaurant provides a whole menu dedicated to gluten-free dim sum – our dream come true! Surbiton also happens to be home to Roy Hodgson, so perhaps a no-go for anyone still getting over England’s early Euros exit.

PIZZA

We’ve all been to those restaurants that claim to provide for Coeliacs by placing one or two GF dishes on its vast menu. The Stringray Cafe in Tufnell Park is quite the opposite. They boast a huge menu of Gluten-free pizzas, pastas and even garlic bread – trust us when we tell you the food here is to die for. They even use a separate oven for all their gluten-free cooking, putting those cross-contamination worries at bay! Time it right and you’ll finish just in time for a stroll over to watch the sunset from atop Hampstead Heath…

FISH AND CHIPS

We briefly mentioned this place in last month’s Gluten Free Pub Guide, and sure enough, when it came to finding the best gluten-free restaurants, this place cropped up again. Take a bow Truscott Arms! The restaurant offers a dedicated coeliac menu consisting of a number of incredible dishes, but our favourite has to be their Fish And Chips – made with Celia GF Lager. A real Mecca for coeliacs in London.

One last thing…

We almost forgot. Word on the street is there’s a great little brand by the name of “Too Good To Be Gluten Free” providing the best alternatives to the nations favourite pastries. Be sure to check them out…
