What is Gluten?

What is a Gluten Free diet?
Adopting a gluten-free diet refers to eating foods that do not contain gluten. The diet is essential for those who suffer from coeliac disease or gluten intolerance however in recent years, there has been a rise in people cutting gluten out of their diet.

What is Coeliac Disease?
Approximately, 1 in every 100 people in the UK are affected by Coeliac Disease. A digestive condition that causes an autoimmune reaction to gluten, attacking the lining of your small intestine. When exposed to gluten, symptoms of coeliac disease include severe abdominal pain, indigestion and gastrointestinal problems. If left untreated or undiagnosed, it can cause long term health problems such as osteoporosis and anaemia.

What is Gluten Intolerance?
Gluten Intolerance is a sensitivity to gluten that causes effects on your body after digesting gluten. Effects of this include: digestive symptoms (abdominal pain, bloating), headaches, fatigue and skin problems (dermatitis, eczema).

What can I eat on a Gluten Free diet?
Gluten is found in most bread, pasta, breakfast cereals and flour however there are many foods that do not contain Gluten. Foods not containing gluten include:

  • Meat, Fish and Seafood
  • Beans, Lentils and Nuts
  • Dairy (Eggs, Milk, Cheese)
  • Gluten Free Grains such as Soy, Quinoa, Flax and many more…

Where can I buy Gluten Free food?
Gluten Free foods are found in health food shops, online stores as well as most supermarkets beginning to feature ‘free from’ aisles full of Gluten Free alternatives. You can find the Too Good To Be product range in selected Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Co-op and Waitrose stores as well as our friends at Ocado.
Delivery
Delivery is a flat rate of £5.50 and Free Delivery with orders over £20. Delivery Days are Tuesday (order before 12pm on Sunday) and Friday (order before 12pm on Wednesday)

Here at the Too Good to be Bakery we currently offer two delivery slots per week, the rest of the time we are in the kitchen packing our pies and quiche full of flavour to guarantee they pass our ‘too good to be’ taste test.

All orders received after 12.00 Sunday until 12.00 Wednesday will be delivered on Friday just in time for the weekend. Then all orders received after 12.00 Thursday until 12.00 Monday will be delivered Tuesday to kick off your week in style.

FREE delivery on orders over £20 (don’t worry all our products freeze well!).
All orders under £20, delivery costs £5.50 .

DELIVERY RESTRICTIONS – Unfortunately we are unable to offer mail order to the following areas: Scottish Highlands & Islands, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, Channel Islands, Scillies and Isle of Man. Due to the perishable nature of the products please ensure you are available to take delivery. If you are not, your package will be left in a secure location.
Refund Policy
Thanks for shopping at Too Good To Be Gluten Free. If you are not entirely satisfied with your purchase, we’re here to help.

Returns
We can only accept returned items that are damaged or if there is a product missing within your order. To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. Your item must be in the original packaging. Your item needs to have the receipt or proof of purchase.

Refunds
Once we receive your item, we will inspect it and notify you that we have received your returned item. We will immediately notify you on the status of your refund after inspecting the item.
If your return is approved, we will initiate a refund to your credit card (or original method of payment). You will receive the credit within a certain amount of days, depending on your card issuer’s policies.

Shipping
You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non¬refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.

Delivery
We currently do two deliveries a week. Tuesday (order before 8am Monday) and Friday (order before 8am Thursday). Deliveries cost £5.50 and a minimum spend of £15 is required for each order (they freeze very well from chilled!)

Our courier will deliver your products in perfect condition by 4pm on your chosen day. However, it is your responsibility to be available for delivery on the day specified. Should there be nobody there to receive the goods the courier will leave the goods in a suitable place or alternatively be returned to the depot. We cannot be responsible for goods left with neighbours or in a storage place accessible to others, nor can we take any responsibility for the quality of any products collected after the proposed delivery time.
